Marc, founder and CIO of Aquilo Capital Management, has over 25 years of experience in biotechnology research and investing. His career began at the Biotechnology Value Fund (BVF), where he was a pivotal part of the portfolio management team from 1995 to 2009. Marc’s expertise is not limited to financial management; he has also contributed significantly as a board member for various private biotechnology companies. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a Juris Doctor from Santa Clara University.

In his previous role at BVF Partners L.P., Marc spent 14 years as a portfolio manager, focusing on life sciences investment. There, he was instrumental in investment selection, research analysis, and overall portfolio management. His work involved close collaboration with portfolio companies, assisting them in strategic development, corporate partnering, and structured financings. Marc’s academic credentials and his extensive experience in both the practical and financial aspects of biotechnology research and investment underline his comprehensive expertise in the field.
